How do we as SEAsian rise to continental level in football?

Besides thailand is on the same level with china and some of west asian teams, what can we do to help SE soccer to rise to the level of japan and korea. What are our strengths and weaknesses physically. What do we lack economically. Please post all my friends.

In my opinion there are many factors combined to push the Asian teams to the international level:

Self perseverance of the players
Players set target to win only
Moral support - fans, friends, family, coach, government etc.
Financial support/reward
Teamwork
Experienced coach
Good field strategies
Know your opponents (weaknesses and strengths)
Not follow but exceed your opponent skills through consistent practices
Never under estimated your opponents

Yes you generally mentioned everything there. I agree with you that not one of the things you listed there can be missed. However, looking at major SE asian teams , we only have 3 or 4 things, the rest we need to work to help. First of all Financial support/reward is no 1. Second is experience coach. Then strengths and weaknesses. Let me elaborate on your points alitle more.


SE asian players are self motivated, atleast to some extent, and skillful.
However, we need to be a little bigger and taller

But i think we need alot of money to build trainning facilities, modern fields, salary and good coaches. Most coaches that we hire from europe or america are not top of the line. However they are good coaches, i know that for a fact. But we just can't have the kind of money to hire very good coach.
Initiations that start in the government level to push foward programs to scout and train young kids systematically.

Man we do have support. Like the viet fans, for example. I think all of us have pretty good fans, but we have to be like the viet fans. They are crazy.

Easy.start wth d kids in school frst.or hv a fball academy 4 them.they hv 2 eat,sleep,live,play fball every day.but u nid a gud coach too.not someone tat can teach but can motivate too.Later,tis kids b v gud players.mayb even world class.FORGET d present players.like d saying goes,u cant teach new tricks to old dogs.Jas b patience.time wil tell

 In Vietnam we start to do it since 2 years ago

I'm from Thailand dude. Don't get me wrong

I said rising up the stardard of referee. it offence you. No, I means nothing.

In the Philippines, our main problem is how to get people to like football. LOL. :D That's a bigger problem than yours. ;)
