My filipino friend who live in Thailand. He alway invite me to come to his country. As I see the some detail in this forum so, I really want to enjoy my time in Phi.

May, I ask u something. Is it true like my friend told me that you shouldn't go alone in the night around Malila.

I means nothing to offence u. coz I like the night life too and I aslo know your country like the music so, do I.

Hi there manjoe,

I think for every traveler around the world, especially in big cities like Manila, Bangkok, New York, etc., you have to have some common sense and be street smart. There are areas in Manila, I would not go alone at night even if I am local - the same goes that you don't go wandering alone in Pat Pong (my classmate's aunt was mugged there) or wander alone into a money changer in Kota Kinabalu (I was almost held up last July in Malaysia by people representing the government, they were trying to extort money from me just as I got out of a money changer). Whenever you are in a big city, you have to always keep your guard on, and I think it is the same for Manila and anywhere else in the world. Oh yeah, one tip, keep away from places that look seedy and you will be alright. :)

Hope that answers your questions! Check out http://tourism-philippines.com for more info. I write for that site. :)

Cheers!

Thank you for yr suggestion. I will going to PHI on March.

I have been almost asean country except PHI, Brunai and Timor

Well, I have a chance to open my world in PHI.

I also have a business trip to Baracay in mid March!

Wow Really??? :) I will go swim with the whale sharks in March however... but yeah... if you love the nightlife and a gorgeous beach... you are going to love Boracay. The sand quality is just super amazing and superfine!

LOL, I live to travel! I travel at least twice a month! :D I am flying away again next weekend to a secluded beach! :) I only travel abroad once a year - this year I went to Brunei and Malaysia; next year- Taiwan, Thailand and Myanmar. :)

Photos of Old Philippines. The Philippines had a lot of very nice buildings, the most modern and the most stylish in Asia until the Japanese and the Americans destroyed during World War 2.

Not yet, but planning to check out Borubudor, Yogyakarta and Mt. Bromo. I am going on an Asian trip again next year so I will see if I can drop by Indonesia. When it comes to nice beaches though, I am kind of pretty spoiled because we have thousands of stunning beaches just in the Philippines, it's very hard to impress me. I don;t like a lot of people on beaches too and I am very picky with sand and water quality. We'll see. I am more interested in other Indonesian beaches aside from Bali (maybe Lombok? or Flores? They look kinda nice). I saw photos and videos of Bali, the sand isn't white. :)

555 ...Hanoi is located in north of Vietnam. If you compare the weather with Bangkok, central or southern provinces of Thailand that might be true but in many parts of Thailand like Chiang Mai or other  northern provinces, the weather is really nice too.

HI Kimz, Pinoy Ako means "I am Filipino". Check out this rough translation. :)

Lahat tayo'y mayro'ng pagkakaiba
Sa tingin pa lang ay makikita na
Iba’t ibang kagustuhan
Ngunit isang patutunguhan

Gabay at pagmamahal ang hanap mo
Magbibigay ng halaga sa iyo
Nais mong ipakilala
Mayro’n mang masama at maganda
Wala namang perpekto
Basta magpakatotoo

Gabay at pagmamahal ang hanap mo
Magbibigay ng halaga sa iyo
Nais mong ipakilala
Kung sino ka man talaga [chorus]

Talagang ganyan ang buhay
Dapat ka nang masanay
Wala ring mangyayari
Kung laging nakikibagay

Ipakilala ang 'yong sarili
Ano man sa 'yo'y mangyayari
Ang lagi mong iisipin
Kayang kayang gawin [chorus]

All of us are different
One look and it's obvious
We like different things
But share similar objectives

You're looking for guidance and love
For what will give meaning to you
You want to let people know
Who you really are
Chorus:PinoyYou are PinoyShow the worldWhat you can doThe Pinoy is very differentDon't be afraidBe proudI am Pinoy, we are PinoyShow the truth and who you are
Both the good and the bad
No one's perfect
Just be true to yourself

You're looking for guidance and love
For what will give meaning to you
You want to let people know
Who you really are [chorus]

That's what life is like
Get used to it
Nothing will happen
If you always try to please

Introduce yourself
Whatever will happen to you
Always keep in mind
That you can do it [chorus

For one thing, there are a lot of surfing places in the Philippines both facing the South China Sea and the Pacific. Second, nowhere in this post said anything about looking down in any country, so please correct your insecurity. Third, just because we have a lot of places that are actually very stunning and very nice and probably you and a lot of people never realised we had doesn't mean I am being unfair and dishonest. It kinda surprises a lot of people that we actually have a lot of places and I am not going to be ashamed to say that we have that. I don't get where you are coming from and if you have been really here in the Philippines so many times as you have said it, then I don't know which places you actually go to so not to see these photos that I have posted. I have been around most of the places whose photos I have posted here and I took some of them myself.

So quit being jealous dude and just accept the fact that like others have found out, the Philippines is among one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

Hi man, it really depends how long will you be planning to stay, what is your budget and what your interests are, there is a little something for everyone. I have a favorite destinations list of my own. I think 2-3 days is enough for Manila, I would suggest that you do a tour of the Old Walled City (my favorite tour is the one done by Carlos Celdran). With Cebu, I am not a big fan of its city honestly but the islands to the north and the south of the city are gorgeous. If you are near Cebu, you may as well hop to Bohol to check out the over 1,000 hills called The Chocolate Hills (been there twice), it turns brown during summer so it looked like Hershey's Kisses, they've got river cruises, dolphin watching, diving, very nice white sand beaches, you can check out the biggest python in captivity in the world and the smallest primate the Philippine Tarsier (similar to the Tarsiers of Indonesia but smaller). There are also century old churches as well.

My top three destinations in the Philippines though would be Batanes (you can see some of the photos I posted here- I fell in love with that place, expensive to go to, but worth every penny), Sagada for the mountains, the caves, the hanging coffins and the rich culture and Palawan (El Nido is just amazing, and while I was in Coron last year, I felt like a kid squealing happily when I saw the impressive limestone formations and of course the longest navigable underground river which I will be seeing this weekend.)

Boracay is nice, but it has become too much of a party place for me. LOL. I am growing old. LOL. It's great for families and groups of friends though. If you are there, don't forget to visit Cocomangas for their 15 shots - and if you finish it, you earn a shirt, have your name engraved and you get your country additional points! Drink for Indonesia! I did mine December last year (but I did it for Australia not for the Philippines since there were a lot of Filipinos who already that- finished drinking all 15 shots and I ended up taking off my clothes!).

Check out my travel site to see what fancies you - http://tourism-philippines.com

Anyway, I assume you are from Indonesia right? When do you think is the best time to visit Yogyakarta? I really wanna visit it as well as Mt. Bromo and if possible, Lombok or Flores... Are there direct flights from Singapore to those places?

I flew with Air Asia once from Clark in the Philippines to Kota Kinabalu last July. I would probably drop by Jakarta for a night to see my friends but yeah I;d like to visit those places I mentioned earlier. Oh yeah, the site tourism-philippines.com is actually owned by a Malaysian based in Johor Bahru..well, if you are from Malaysia, then... you should drink the 15 shots for Malaysia! Btw, Yogyakarta sounds really nice and Flores and Lombok too... I will probably passing through KL sometime next year, depending on the countries I am going to tour. :D
