INDONESIA, who will be hosting the 2011 SEA Games, have proposed staging 37 sports, including two extreme sports.

Malaysia’s representative in the SEA Games Federation (SGF) executive meeting Datuk Sieh Kok Chi said that Indonesia would drop petanque, fin swimming, muay thai and shuttle**** juggling from the programme.

“The two new sports included are wall climbing and roller-skating,” he said yesterday.

Among the sports proposed by Indonesia are badminton, weightlifting, aquatics, football, archery, shooting, silat, taekwondo, athletics, squash, hockey, billiard & snooker, boxing, volleyball, basketball, golf, judo, sepak takraw, table tennis, wushu, cycling.

Among the sports not contested in Vientiane but included in Indonesia are tenpin bowling, equestrian, gymnastics, fencing, chess, traditional boats, kayaking, rowing, sailing, softball and baseball.

And, for the first time in the SEA Games history, Indonesia have proposed including Kempo, a type of combat sport similar to fencing but using bamboo-made weapons that is popular in Japan.

The 2011 host have also added powerlifting to the programme of normal athletes although the sport is normally featured in the Paralympics.

Kok Chi said that Singapore had withdrawn from hosting the 2013 SEA Games and that Vietnam had offered to host the Games.

According to SGF’s allocation of the host job to countries, Singapore were given the opportunity to host the 2013 SEA Games, followed by Cambodia (2015), Myanmar, Brunei, Malaysia and Vietnam respectively.

Not when Malaysia sailing can help it. They are pretty good too. We are kinda okay with sailing. Good that Indonesia is going to put back the important sports.

Oh yeah, I think Singapore and Cambodia is going to skip hosting the SEAGAMES after Indonesia, so it might either be Vietnam, Thailand, or Philippines hosting.

OMG I'm very please welcome and really want to see many kind of sport like GYM, Squash,Futsal, Bowling, Basketball and Fencing are Back Back Back.

I want to see more Gold in Golf. I thought, Golf is the one famous sport over the world but in this game just put 4 Medal.
